I Created My First Album Cover (Process Photos and Video)

I'm excited to share with you my process for creating my works of art. This is something I hope to do more of in the future moving forward. I've always heard that people like seeing the process behind the finished product even more so than the final product itself.

I typically begin by collecting reference images, but for this particular project, I was given a specific image to recreate. The artist wanted more of an organic feel as opposed to a digital rendering. I sketched out the image, first and then, with the Client's assistance, created a color palette that would match well with the vibe of the music.

Here's a list of materials that I used for this project:

  • Dr. Ph Martin's Bombay India Ink
  • Dr. Ph Martin's Radiant Concentrated Water Color
  • Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer Watercolour Pencils
  • Holbein Artists' Gouache and Sets
  • Dewberry UPro (DD8120) 12 Round Brush
  • Princeton VelvetTouch (3950LR) 10 Long Round Brush
  • Marvy Embossing Heat Tool Model 2500
