EXHIBITION: Mississippi School of the Arts Black History Month
Thank you to the Mississippi School of the Arts for inviting me to create and display a piece of artwork for the student Black History Art Show! It was an amazing experience and the artists work was absolutely fabulous!

Self-Expression, 2022

Self-Expression was influenced by Harlem Renaissance artist and teacher, Lois Mailou Jones. Jones, who was also a designer, incorporated repeat patterns into her work that was inspired by Haitian art. Self-Expression explores the use of motifs and a bright color palette. The painting seeks to convey the overall mood of the Harlem Renaissance era mixed with a contemporary outlook.
