My Museum Bucket List + Why I Love Them

I couldn't quite put my finger on why I enjoy visiting art museums so much. I thought solely visiting museums was always a good way to stay up to date about current artists or look at older preserved works. I knew that, however, whenever I left a museum, I felt much happier. It turns out, there are scientific reasonings as to why museums boost happiness. According to an article published by the Journal of Positive Psychology, "consuming art in a museum can help you reduce stress, combat loneliness, and make life feel more meaningful."

I knew I always felt renewed and full afterwards, like I'd had a meaning experience. In saying that, I'd love to visit more museums in the near future to see more artworks and gain more renewal and knowledge about new artists.

On my museum bucket list, I have, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Frist Art Museum in Nashville, TN, The Art Institute of Chicago, The MET and The MoMA to name a few. I'd also love to revisit LACMA since I didn't spend too much time there during my last visit to LA. There are many more, but these are on the top of the list.

Here's a list of 50+ Museum Exhibitions to See This Fall from CultureType
