Support Local Jackson Comics - 200 Years of Jackson

I'm so thankful to be apart of the first issue of Jackson Comics! Jackson Comics is an anthology series dedicated to showcasing Southern artists and writers. I couldn't be more excited.

There's currently an Indiegogo campaign running to support the comic book. Please consider donating to the fund. Here's more information about the book:

Jackson Comics is the first comic book anthology created solely by Mississippi artists, and serves as a celebration of our state capital's bicentennial. Local artists have been commissioned to tell their own unique stories in their own unique styles - from dystopian sci-fis to abstract visual poems, from tales of horror to stories of childhood memories in the city, all featuring the city of Jackson. This 30+ page comic book is the first of its kind. It is a celebration of not only Jackson, but also the artist community of Mississippi.

Your donation will go to these artists and the people that made this project possible. However, your money will also be going to creating a second issue and supporting all new artists. It is our hope that soon Jackson Comics may be a place where student and professional artists alike in the state of Mississippi may be able to submit and showcase their work and talent for free. You can help us make that a reality.

Our creators of this issue include (in alphabetical order) Blake BarnesChris WindfieldJustin RansburgLatrice LawsonLyndsay SimpsonNathan PietrykowskiRick HarrisonRobin Martéa, and Steven Butler.

This project has been generously supported by the Mississippi Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts. Thank you also to our local business supporters: Offbeat; Urban Foxes; Cups; Fondren Fitness; Van's Comics, Cards & Games; Healthwurks; and The Little Yellow Building.
